New Space Portugal

The “New Space Portugal” mobilization agenda will create, for the first time in Portugal, the capability to conceive, develop, and produce complete satellites, payloads, and provide high value transactional services based on Earth observation data from space (EO), strengthening the national value chain to serve a fast growing global market.

In addition, it will expand the product and service portfolio of the Portuguese satellite operator (GEOSAT) and consolidate its position in European and global markets, as well as support domestic companies focused on practical applications of satellite data (downstream), creating a high-value, market-oriented offering.

Overall, “New Space Portugal” will develop and consolidate a long-term scientific, technological and industrial space base in Portugal for the promising future of the sector.
